The problem we wanted to solve

This Asheville, NC-based firm needed more capacity in communications, so they engaged Coeo to handle a broad range of earned media, digital media, internal communications and marketing work.

The work we ended up doing

In addition to their communications work, Coeo and Urban3 have developed a successful ongoing podcast, called “The Possible City,” focusing on local government leaders, issues, and solutions across the country.

Cate Ryba, Former Chief Operating Officer, Urban3:

“Right from the get-go, we were really impressed with Kerry. He has such a knack for taking what we do and turning into stories that media outlets want to hear. What part of the story is most interesting and what story are we trying to tell? That’s very powerful and Kerry is very talented at doing that.”

What are some of the ways you worked with Kerry?

“It's been a very gratifying process to work with Kerry on the podcast. He's done a phenomenal job … it would never happen without him. The podcast has been a helpful tool for us in our business development, and it's also been a great way for us to lift up voices of our clients and the good work they're doing.”

What surprised you about your work with Kerry?

“He has a wide network of folks in the space we work in and he’s well-known among our peer groups. He just really speaks our language; I don't have to do any explaining to him about the how or the why of what we're doing. He is right there with us and that's super-valuable.”

What would you tell other potential clients is the best part of your work with Kerry?

“He’s so easy to work with, and is the person who can implement communication strategies and initiatives you always wanted to do, but never had the time for. The other piece I really appreciate about Kerry is his emotional intelligence. He has a deep well of empathy and understands equity in a lot of different ways. He’s also got a great sense of humor. Working with him is fun.”
